House burglaries, 4 individuals arrested and part of the stolen goods recovered #finsubito finanziamenti e gestione bed & breakfast

At dawn on Saturday 30 November 2024, the Carabinieri of the Operational Nucleus of the Florence Company, supported by the Follonica Force, at the conclusion of targeted and prolonged investigative activity, subjected the Judicial Police arrest four Italian men on suspicion of crime, aged between 35 and 53 years, accused of being part of a criminal group specializing in home burglariesThe detainees were stopped by the military, who broke into a bed & breakfast in Follonica chosen by the alleged gang as an operational base for the robberies in Tuscany.

The investigations, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Florence, were started following a home burglary that occurred in Fiesole last October and have allowed this event to be linked to a long series of similar events, for the commission of which the criminals usually used high-powered SUVs (around 500 hp) with cloned license plates.

The modus operandi has emerged as constant.: the perpetrators were made to get off the driver in isolated streets, while the latter waited at the wheel, with the engine running, keeping in constant contact with the accomplices, warning them of the possible arrival of patrols. The group gained entry into the houses by destroying every barrier or obstacle, causing very serious damage to the homes themselves using burglary tools (large caliber hammers, axes, screwdrivers, hoses and crowbars).

At the time of the arrest, part of the stolen goods from the latest thefts, carried out in recent days in the municipalities of Impruneta, Chianti Road, Scandicci, Collesalvetti, Bagno a Ripoli, Cerreto Guidi and Prato. The detainees were taken to the Florence Sollicciano and Grosseto District Prisons. Following the validation hearing, the GIP of Grosseto validated the arrests and applied the precautionary custody measure in prison to all of them.
